CAUTION to ALL SADDLEBACK RESIDENTS about POTENTIAL BRUSH BURNING CONSEQUENCES At the Annual Homeowner Meeting on Wed, Jan 29, a resident informed us that they received a FINE from the Placer County Air Pollution Control District (PCAPCD) agency for excessive smoke from brush burning, even though they obtained a legal permit from CALFIRE to do so. An unknown person reported them to the agency, which then imposed a $250 fine for air pollution. The resident challenged the agency and ultimately had the fine reduced to $75. The apparent object lesson here (apart from inter-agency conflicting info) is that air pollution restrictions supercede allowed burning, so be forewarned! CALFIRE DEBRIS BURNING REQUIREMENTS |
New ordinance passed by Placer County Board of Supervisors on Tuesday, April 21, 2020: ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- HAZARDOUS VEGETATION and COMBUSTIBLE MATERIAL ORDINANCE ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- Starting May 21st, Placer County will ENFORCE the 100-foot defensible space requirement using inspections, along with citations and fines for non-compliance. ---------------------------------------------------------------------------------- It's time to remove excess fire-fueling vegetation on your property NOW in order to comply with the 100-foot rule. If you don't, the County will do it and charge you for all expenses, plus issue a fine as well. |
